Display SOS - Rastrick High School, March 2010

A "Displays SOS" course was held at Rastrick High School in March 2010. Pauline Carr, the course leader and veteran of the display trade, was extremely funny, ensuring that the day was a big hit with all who attended.

The course gave tips to show how a professional looking, exciting display could be easily prepared using a range of cheap, readily available materials. One of the most impressive displays was created using an old box and black bin liners.

During the day we were shown how to create suspended, 3-D and themed displays; ways of displaying books and clothing; and were encouraged to practise what had been seen in practical workshops.

Delegates felt that they left the course feeling motivated to "make displays more vibrant and interactive" and gave very positive feedback about the whole day.
